If this is not done, then the desired pond will turn into a swamp. Then they start digging a pit, at the bottom of which they make a sandy base (its thickness should be about 10 cm). It is tamped down and the geotextile is laid. Geotextile is easily cut into pieces of the desired size, which are stacked with an overlap of 15 cm. After that, waterproofing is laid, for example, a geomembrane. And only then you can safely pour water. The edges of the film are bent and covered with soil.
