Shower tray installation

The shower channel is a rectangular shower ladder of various lengths. It consists of: a housing (a tray for collecting water), a siphon, a shutter, a grate, legs.   Now that we already know what a shower channel and its varieties are, we can proceed to the installation.

Such work can be done independently. It is better to purchase a channel before you start making repairs, because since the channel is built into the floor, it will be impossible to install it in the finished surface without damaging the floor surface. A minimum of 15 cm is required for laying all layers and for performing the necessary floor slope. At the entrance to the shower cabin, you can make a step, it is better to provide for this moment at the planning stage.

The sequence of actions during installation is as follows:The first thing to do is to determine the area of the shower area.

	Its size can be as follows: 120*120, 100*100, 90*90, 100*140, 100*120, 90*140, 90*120, 90*100, 80*140, 80*120, 80* 100cm.​After we have allocated the area for the shower area, you can proceed to choosing the installation location of the shower channel and choosing its length.
	We offer shower channels with a length of 20-80cm.
	After the planning stages are completed, you can start the work. First of all, to improve thermal insulation, if desired, thermal insulation can be laid on the concrete base of the floor (as a rule, these are styrofoam plates). Then the insulation is poured with a cement-sand mixture (floor screed). For high-quality work at this stage, I recommend using: fiber (for reinforcement and prevention of cracks in concrete), plasticizer (to improve the thermophysical and mechanical properties of concrete screed), damping tape (for reliable sealing and compensation of thermal expansion of concrete screed).
	The next stage is the performance of waterproofing works. There are several types of bathroom waterproofing: coating, penetrating, plaster. This will help to avoid possible leaks in the future.
	Next, you need to install the tray itself in the appropriate hole in the floor and connect it to the sewer.
	After the installation procedure, you can fill the floor with a screed, and then lay the tile (adjustable tray legs allow you to install the grate exactly at the tile level).

  After the installation of the entire system, the problem of contamination of drainage systems arises in the operation process. Even the most modern and expensive shower channels need to be cleaned of dirt (hair and dirt get clogged into drains and make drainage difficult). But despite the fact that the shower ladders and channels are mounted in the floor, it is very easy to clean them — it is enough to remove the grate.
