The autumn and winter seasons in Ukraine do not particularly pamper us with warmth. And if the citizens of our country always have the opportunity to put on an extra sweater or wrap themselves in a scarf, then it is necessary to take care of the thermal insulation of the foundation in advance. It has been established that it is due to the foundations, ground floors and basements that about 10-20% of the heat loss of the entire building occurs.
But the greatest danger to the integrity and durability of the foundation is represented by heaving soils, which, when frozen, increase in volume and can lead to deformation and even its destruction. Even if the foundation was laid below the freezing depth of such soils, this does not give a 100% guarantee that the forces of frost heaving will not have their destructive effect on it.
The situation is difficult, but by no means hopeless. High-quality thermal insulation of buried structures will solve problems such as significant heat losses, the appearance of dampness, the development of mold, and will also help protect the foundation structure from freezing. But the main advantage of properly executed thermal insulation will be to minimize the risks arising from the rise and thawing of heaving soils.
Due to its technical characteristics, styrofoam and styrofoam plates are perfect as an insulating material. What is IZOPLAST W-KL mastic and what are its main advantages?
IZOPLAST W-KL is a bitumen-rubber mastic, Polish-made, water-based. It is used to create seamless and lightweight waterproofing coatings, gluing foam, expanded polystyrene and mineral insulation boards to concrete, brick and plastered surfaces.
IZOPLAST W-KL adhesive mastic is very easy to use, does not contain solvents and has a high adhesive property to mineral surfaces. It is excellent for performing seamless waterproofing of vertical and horizontal surfaces and gluing thermal insulation materials.

- strips 5-10 cm wide (2 to 5 mm thick) along the entire perimeter of the insulation board with an interval of 20-30 cm
- 20 dots with a diameter of 5-10 cm per 1 m2
