How to cover concrete in winter
With the arrival of winter, the question often arises - how to extend the construction work associated with pouring concrete at low temperatures. There is a way out of this situation. This is the use of special antifreeze additives or additives for concrete. Such, for example, as NITCAL antifreeze additive, which works at temperatures up to -25 ° C, accelerates the strength gain, allows you to obtain high-density and waterproof concrete, slows down corrosion processes, and also does not form efflorescence on the surface. We also recommend using SANPOL PM-8 antifreeze plasticizer, which has a combined plasticizing, antifreeze, accelerating effect, prevents possible destruction of concrete structures due to exposure to low temperatures. The additive works at temperatures up to -15 ° C when installing monolithic and precast-monolithic concrete structures.
The next step in pouring is covering the concrete with a covering material. When the temperature drops, it is not necessary to stop construction work. Such reliable protection from low temperatures, ultraviolet rays, precipitation and other moisture is provided by three-layer mats.
