How to make formwork with your own hands

An excellent solution for screed formwork panels are spring clamps – "chirozy". For many years, specialists and craftsmen in monolithic construction have been accustomed to using screed screws and nuts for formwork systems, cone clamps, etc. for screed boards. However, it should be taken into account that when removing the formwork, holes remain in the concrete product, which will need to be repaired in the future and will negatively affect the strength of the structure itself. The use of chiroza will help us to prevent this significant problem.

The method of screed formwork using spring clamps is extremely simple and practical.

To install the spring clamp, it is necessary to bring the ends of the reinforcement to the outer side of the formwork panel with a length of about 15 cm and tighten it with a pressure wrench for the chiroz.

We put the key on the clamp, we fix our clamp with the upper lever, and we press it with the lower lever. That's the whole installation process. To remove such a lock, an accurate and gentle hammer blow on the tongue of the clamp is sufficient, after that the tension disappears and it is easily removed. The last step is to cut off the protruding parts of the reinforcing bar.

It should be added that there are clamps of different sizes and with different degrees of load. For example, reinforced spring clamps can withstand a load of up to 3 tons, also having an increased plate thickness and galvanized elements made of hardened steel. The fastening mechanism itself is equipped with a heavy-duty tight spring.

So, the advantages of this method are convenience and ease of operation, saving time on installation and consumables.
Chiroz can be used an unlimited number of times and works with fittings with a diameter from 6 to 10 mm.
