Concept and key features

Bentonite cord is a profile made on the basis of bentonite, a clay natural mineral that swells and becomes absolutely waterproof as a result of getting into a humid environment.

Modern manufacturers produce the corresponding products in different sizes. This physical characteristic determines the purpose of the bentonite cord. The diameter of the thinnest profile samples is 3 mm, and the alternative with the largest thickness is characterized by a cross section of 50 mm.
The indicator of the thickness of the bentonite cord determines the specifics of its use. The cord with the smallest cross-section is used to seal the places where engineering communications are laid. Deep boreholes and sealing relatively large holes requires the use of thicker cords.
