Sealing of working seams

Bentonite cord "HYDROSTOP SANPOL" is a swelling tape for waterproofing concreting joints or joints of building structures during construction. The main component of the harness is bentonite clay, (a loamy mineral that swells under the influence of water) has a rectangular cross-section with dimensions of 15X25 mm, 10x20 mm, 5x20 mm, and Ø 22mm.

It is used in monolithic construction for sealing vertical and horizontal joints of concrete and reinforced concrete structures, including in water tanks, in joints of old and new elements of concrete and reinforced concrete structures, in joints of prefabricated elements, for waterproofing workers, "cold" joints and transitions of engineering communications in construction.

Bentonite cord "HYDROSTOP SANPOL" is a sealing strip in the form of a tape, harmless to the environment, a waterproof seal for construction and cold concreting joints that swells under the action of water.

Bentonite bundles are 75% made from sodium bentonite.

Bentonite is a natural clay mineral that, when in contact with water, has the ability to swell and increase in size. When this process takes place in a confined space, bentonite becomes practically waterproof. Due to this, sodium bentonite is an ideal material for reliable waterproofing of concrete structures.

Where it is used:

Designed for waterproofing joints or eliminating leaks in concrete structures (basements, swimming pools, places of interface with pipes, sewer systems, etc.), forming a flexible and elastic gasket or a flexible seal in a seam or crack. Performs waterproofing in all works on repair and reconstruction of buildings and structures (in all cases when concreting is performed and when waterproofing of joints and interfaces is required). Bentonite harness can be used in water and sewer crossings, underground parts of construction sites, as well as in houses and structures built below the groundwater level.

Packaging and installation method

Harnesses are supplied in the form of a roll. The length of the roll is 5 m. The bentonite cord is placed in the center between the reinforcement and is attached with dowels to the concrete through a metal mesh. Since the metal mesh leads to an increase in the cost of consumables, it can be replaced on horizontal surfaces with a sealant, which can fix the bentonite gasket. The bentonite cord must be fixed for the time of pouring concrete, so that the hydraulic pad does not "float" during the solidification of concrete.

Harnesses can be laid on both flat and uneven concrete surfaces. The concrete surface at the junction must be cleaned of stones, rust and other contaminants. Harnesses do not fit on surfaces covered with water. The lengths of the bundles are connected butt-to-butt, or overlap.

Laying bundles in a confined space limits their free swelling. Penetrating water leads to the appearance of an impermeable gel, which becomes a waterproof barrier, and under the influence of swelling pressure, fills and seals pores and cracks in concrete. Under conditions of hydrostatic pressure, the width of the gap in the elements sealed with bundles cannot exceed 0.5 mm.

Advantages:

  • The installation can be carried out at temperatures from - 15 ° C to 52 ° C, and the operating temperature range is from - 40 ° C to 100 ° C.
  • Quick, easy and simple installation.
  • Thanks to the plastic shape, non-standard use is possible.
  • Due to the delayed swelling of the bundles, it is possible to seal places where there is a possibility of stagnant water.
