Rubber-based technical insulation adhesive Sanpreis
Adhesive for technical insulation SANPOL 1L is a one-component adhesive consisting of a solution of synthetic rubber with the addition of a modifier and a mixture of organic solvent. Used for gluing pipe and sheet insulation made of foamed polyethylene and foam rubber.
Instructions for use:
- Applying glue . The glue is applied with a brush to both surfaces to be glued. The recommended temperature for applying glue is 18 - 22o C, humidity 60 - 65%. For highly adhesive-absorbing rubbers, it is recommended to apply the adhesive twice with an interval of 10 minutes between applications. For non-adhesive surfaces – single application.
- Drying. The adhesive film must be dried under natural conditions. The required drying time depends on the temperature and is usually 5-10 minutes. The end of drying is easy to determine by touch - the glue ceases to be sticky.
- Gluing. Press the products together with adhesive films and compress (press) or roll with rollers. There is no need to leave it under load. Pressing force 3 – 3.5 kg/cm2.
!!!Attention. The time between the glue drying and squeezing should not exceed the open time - for this glue - 10 minutes. After 7 - 10 minutes, the strength of the adhesive joint reaches 70% of the maximum. From this moment on, the connection can be used. Further strength gains occur slowly, over 30–40 hours.
Main properties of SANPOL glue:
- High strength and good heat resistance of the connection.
- Resistance to hydrolysis (water resistance) and acids and petroleum products.
- Good ductility of the connection, including at low temperatures.
- Easy to apply.
- High adhesion to most porous materials.
- Short open time and therefore high initial bond strength.
How to correctly calculate the consumption of glue for pipe insulation?
The recommended glue consumption is 1 liter per 50-150 m of insulation, depending on the thickness of the insulation and how the glue will be applied: at the joints, along the length or over the entire area.
How to correctly calculate the adhesive consumption for sheet insulation?
- The recommended glue consumption is 1 liter per 6-10 sq. m of insulation, depending on how the glue will be applied: at the joints or over the entire area.
For example, if you want to glue 30 square meters of sheet rubber insulation (the thickness of the insulation is not important), then when applying glue to the entire surface of the sheet, the consumption will be 3 liters. And if you apply glue in stripes or dots, then the glue consumption will decrease by two or even three times.
