How to make a shower without a pallet
The main difference between a shower cabin without a pallet from a similar design with a pallet is the method of draining water. In classic cabins, water flows through a hole in the pallet. And for showers without a pallet — through channels or holes directly in the floor.
Advantages of shower cabins without a pallet on the floor:takes up little space – can be installed even in a small bathroom
- it looks stylish – the bathroom will be like in fashionable glossy magazines
- the bottom of the structure is on the same level with the floor — convenient for people with disabilities and the elderly
Stages of operation of a shower room without a palletInitial works:
The floor covering is removed to the concrete floor, all dust and cement are removed.
- The base is treated with mastic for waterproofing.
- A ladder is installed (this is a device that receives sewage), the supporting parts, the siphon, the ladder itself and the pipes of the shower tray are connected; all open parts of the floor base are filled with blocks of foam or expanded polystyrene.
- The remaining cracks and gaps are filled with a mixture of water, cement and sand.
- Next, you need to wait 3-4 days for the structure to completely harden.
Screed and waterproofingA 4 cm thick concrete screed is poured over the frozen base of the shower stall floor.
- The screed and the nearby walls are covered with mastic to a height of 35-50 cm.
- Next, a solid solid (without cuts and cracks) sheet of roofing material or fiberglass is laid. The edges of the sheet should be on the adjacent walls at a level of 25 cm from the floor, they are pressed against the walls and glued.
- Another layer of concrete screed of the same thickness is poured on top: 4 cm. For example, you can use Teknomer 200 waterproofing compound.
- It is impossible to cut a sheet of waterproofing material at the corners so that the structure remains sealed. Instead, they make creases at the corners and glue them to the wall.
TilingFinishing is done: first the floor is laid out with tiles, then the walls of the shower.
- At the junction, the vertical tile should cover the horizontal one.
- All seams and joints between tiles are covered with waterproofing film or silicone.
Installation of shutters or shuttersFastening is carried out in one of three ways: To fix the shutters on special hinges or a profile fixed on the wall.
- Fasten the sashes to the frame. In this case, you can install a sliding door.
- Fasten the sashes to a special frame. You can install the blinds in a third way. Curtains with rings are put on the frame or guide.
