Co-polymer fiber Polyex mesh 38 mm for concrete, 1 kg Astra (Poland)
PolyexMesh 38 mm fiber is synthetic fibers consisting of a special mixture of copolymer and polypropylene. Created for reinforcement, improvement of mechanical properties and durability of concrete. Synthetic fiber is the best replacement for steel fiber reinforcement, since steel fibers significantly weigh down the concrete structure and contribute to concrete corrosion. Concrete and mortar with the use of Polyex Mesh structural fiber has better properties compared to concrete reinforced with steel fibers. The addition of Polyex Mesh fiber increases the impact strength of concrete, its corrosion resistance, as the fibers stop shrinkage caused by early cracking of concrete, and also increase its density.
Main advantages: increased impact strength
- increased bending strength
- reduction of shrinkage cracks
- increased resistance to weather factors
- increasing frost resistance cycles
- no corrosion
- increased wear resistance
- comfortable styling
- increased durability
- replacement of steel anti-shrink nets in floors
- additional resistance to fragmentation
- convenient dosage and mixing
- uniform distribution of fibers in the concrete mix
- reducing the wear of concrete feeding equipment
Polyex Mesh 38mm copolymer fiber is an additive in concrete that increases tensile, compressive and bending strength, as well as the impact strength of the structure. Polymer fiber prevents the spread of cracks in the concrete body and simplifies the laying of the finished mixture. It works great as an alternative to metal fiber, since polymer fiber is much more convenient to use. It is evenly distributed in the concrete body and contributes to full-fledged micro-reinforcement.
Application:a substitute for steel anti-shrink nets in floors
- concrete industrial self-leveling floors
- road and bridge coverings
- devices of cement-sand floor screed
- outdoor areas, parking lots
- concrete slabs, foundations
- monolithic structures, reinforced concrete piles, concrete columns
- building mortars, dry mixes and plasters
- casting of small architectural forms from concrete
Specifications:countering the formation of shrinkage cracks
- increasing resistance to weather factors
- reduced seepage; better workability
- increased flexural strength; increased durability
- increased impact strength
Dosage: The dosage of polymer fiber depends on the purpose of concrete (composite): 1-3kg of dry fiber per 1 m3 of concrete.
This ratio makes it possible to obtain excellent quality concrete, preventing plastic shrinkage as much as possible. In comparison with iron fiber, which needs 20-40kg per 1 m3 of concrete, polymer fiber is much more economical and practical to use.If necessary, in some cases, the amount of polymer fiber can be increased to 0.5% of the total volume of concrete, which cannot be done using steel fiber.
Polyex Mesh fibers come in different lengths: 24mm; 38mm; 54mm.Packed in bags of 1 kg, cardboard boxes of 10 kg.

Can Polyex Mesh copolymer fibers be used to reinforce concrete?
Polyex Mesh fiber consists of fibers of a special mixture of copolymer and polypropylene. They create reinforcement in three dimensions, which reduces or completely eliminates plastic shrinkage of concrete, is an alternative to reinforcement with steel fibers, metal fiber, reinforcement frame and anti-shrink welded grids.
It is not recommended to use fiber as an independent additive when installing floor slabs, balconies, load-bearing structures, and other structures that take a serious load. But in combination with reinforcement at critical facilities, the use of fiber will save concrete and improve its operational characteristics.
How to use Polyex Mesh fiber in concrete mortar?
For uniform distribution, the fibers should be added to the finished concrete mix. Fibers are added to concrete at a concrete plant, in a concrete truck (mixer) or in a concrete mixer at a construction site, mixing for at least 5 minutes / every 1 m3. For optimal results, the fibers must be dry.
