IPS PU 2K is a high-quality two-component polyurethane sealant for sealing joints and cracks in vertical and inclined building structures. It can be used for sealing joints in horizontal structures in the absence of direct mechanical load. It can be used in residential premises, provided that the sealant is fully cured before the start of operation of the premises

IPS PU 2K is a two-component polyurethane construction sealant for sealing joints and cracks in vertical and inclined building structures. It can be used for sealing joints in horizontal structures in the absence of direct mechanical load. It is easily applied with a hand tool (for example, a spatula). After mixing the components, it cures as a result of a chemical reaction. The curing rate increases with increasing temperature. The sealant has excellent adhesion to most building materials, as well as good strength and deformation qualities after curing. It can be used in residential premises, provided that the sealant is fully cured before the start of operation of the premises.

How is the sealant applied?

Before applying the sealant, be sure to study the appropriate safety data sheet and make sure that all the manufacturer's instructions are followed. Make sure that the ambient temperature at the place of application of the sealant is within the permissible range of application temperatures. The sealant is allowed to be applied only to the seams corresponding to the recommended parameters and prepared
according to the above instructions. At a low temperature, the sealant may have an increased viscosity. Before use, it is recommended to keep the packaging with the sealant in a warm room at a temperature corresponding to the application temperature range for at least a day. Before applying the sealant, it is necessary to mix components A and B. For high-quality mixing of components with high viscosity, it is recommended to use an electric mixer. Mixing of the components is carried out until a completely homogeneous mass is obtained, usually 15 minutes is enough. It is forbidden to add solvents and other foreign substances to the mixed sealant, including to exclude the ingress of moisture / raindrops. This can lead to deterioration of the properties and characteristics of the sealant, including viability and curing time. After mixing, apply the sealant into the seam using a spatula or other suitable tool. Gently and evenly squeeze the sealant into the seam, avoiding the formation of voids and air bubbles, ruptures and inflows. Immediately after filling the seam, it is necessary to align and seal the applied sealant, as well as give it the desired shape with the appropriate tool (spatula) of the appropriate size and configuration. The tool is wetted in a soapy solution to prevent the sealant from sticking. It is not allowed to directly apply a soap solution to a freshly applied sealant. Tools are cleaned immediately after the work is completed with approved solvents (it is recommended to use acetone or whitespirite). Excess hardened sealant is removed mechanically. The newly applied sealant must be protected from rain for a period of time exceeding the viability time. It is possible to use a polyethylene film, tape or other material, while it is necessary to prevent the adhesion of the protective material to the sealant laid in the seam, as well as to prevent damage to the adjacent decorative coating.
