Technology for building bomb shelters: what materials are needed
With the beginning of Russia's large-scale invasion, the seizure of our territories and regular terrorist rocket attacks on peaceful cities, we began to live in a reality where saving the lives of ourselves and our relatives sometimes takes minutes. A person has approximately 20 minutes to find a safe shelter in case of a rocket attack. Basements in high-rise buildings, underground passages, parking lots in residential buildings and shopping malls, the subway from ordinary everyday places of visit become a place of refuge.
According to the legislation, bomb shelters and shelters should be monitored by building balance holders. But, to our great regret, after a mass check, it turned out that 19% of them are not ready to accept people.
After all, these premises must meet basic requirements:
- securely reinforced
- well ventilated
- with connected utilities (drainage, heat supply)
- with equipped bathrooms
- with equipped places for cooking
- with the possibility of accommodating at least all residents of the house or section of the residential complex
- have multiple outputs
Often residents do not want to go down to the basement, where there is knee-deep water, or there are traces of rodents, or something drips from the ceiling. And in general, the room looks like a room from a scary movie. It turned out that the last bomb shelter that can withstand a nuclear strike was built in Kiev in 1985.
At the same time, the creation of an underground parking is quite an expensive pleasure for the developer. After all, its cost price reaches 20-25% of the total costs for the construction of the residential complex.
Bill No. 7398 provides for the urgent deployment of a network of bomb shelters in Ukraine, including in new buildings. The purpose of this law is to create conditions for residents so that in the event of a terrorist missile attack they can hide from explosions, blast waves, damage by bacteriological and radioactive substances.Underground parking will have a dual purpose – both parking and shelters with the functionality of a bomb shelter.
It is possible that the law will not apply to facilities built before February 24, 2022, but this document will apply to facilities whose documentation will be developed and approved after the date of entry into force of the law.
And if staying in parking lots involves not only cars being in it, but also long-term stay of people, then they should be built with full responsibility and compliance with the norms. For example, using modern building materials. For construction organizations that are engaged in the arrangement and construction of parking lots, we offer a list of materials that will close a lot of questions and nuances. For this kind of work, materials such as:
reinforcing polymer fiber for concrete Polyex Mesh waterproofing dowels internal and external for working and expansion joints
- Sanpol bentonite cord for waterproofing and sealing of working seams
- quartz topping Teknoser 100, concrete hardener
- corundum topping Teknoser 300, concrete hardener
- self-leveling mixture for self-leveling floors Teknoselfembedded deformation profiles
- separation seams and inserts
- e flutes and industrial baseboards
- industrial bumpers for parking lots
- For service organizations that have parking lots, crossings, bomb shelters and other shelters on their balance sheet, we can offer materials for repairing premises that have become unusable due to waterproofing violations, or for other reasons.
- Waterproofing mixture Teknomer 200EPDM-ProElast tape for sealing working and expansion joints
- Repair non-shrinkable mixture Teknorep 300EX
